The sunrise balloon over Luxor is the image every visitor carries home: the sun coming up over the Valley of the Kings while the balloons drift over the Nile. We also fly over the Pyramids of Giza and the Mediterranean coast.
The balloon teams pick you up from your hotel in Luxor between 4 and 5 AM, so you are in the air at sunrise. The launch field is a few kilometres from the west bank, and after the landing the vehicle takes you back to the hotel or to where your breakfast is waiting.
The balloon season runs from October to April, and the flights are cancelled when the wind is too strong. The best months are November, February and March: clear mornings, cool air and the lowest chance of a last-minute stand-down.
