A private tour is the same route as the group one — with your own car, your own guide and no waiting for anyone. It is the way to see Egypt when you have little time, a big family, or a list of places you really want to see.
Your guide meets you at the hotel, the airport or the port, and the car stays with you for the whole day. The standard cars are air-conditioned sedans and minivans; the bigger vehicles are available on request, and the cost is per car, not per person.
The private tours work all year, because the vehicle and the guide adapt to the day. In summer the start is early in the morning and the midday hours are spent in the museum or the bazaar; in winter you can start late and stay until sunset.
